Wood drapery poles from Kirsch are available in many sizes and styles. One of the most popular styles of drapery hardware is a traditional wood rod with finials, rings and brackets. With Kirsch you can choose between wood style treatments in 3, 2 and 1 3/8 inch pole diameters with either smooth or fluted profiles. Available in four, six, eight and twelve foot lengths, wood drapery poles from Kirsch may be easily trimmed to fit your window size before installation. Two popular wood collections are Wood Trends and Buckingham. Even though each of these collections contain wood drapery rods of several diameters and lengths, the Wood Trends line is very cost effective. For more elaborate treatments, Buckingham from Kirsch comes in exclusive designer finishes that are two toned. If you're looking for a wooden drapery rod that is unfinished to stain or faux-finish yourself, you'll be able to choose Buckingham for staining or Wood Trends for painting. Wood rods from Buckingham don't come with finger joints like lower cost poles and that means they are great for adding your own custom stain.

In modern times too, draperies have enticed every soul and you will find these in almost every home. Draperies are decorated around the windows, could be exterior or interior, depending on the person's choice. Before curtains came into existence, draperies ruled the lives of people in many ways. * Ring Top Drapery comes with sewn in drapery rings. Rings are available in a variety of finishes to accent the drapery hardware and rod. Drapery rings are included with choice of either metal or wood rings. Metal rings generally accommodate a drapery rod up to 1 1/2 inch in diameter while wood rings usually accommodate a curtain rod up to 1 3/8 inch in diameter. * French pleat drapery panels bring a European flair to any home. The tucked pleat in the front brings a quaint charm to any room. These blinds are attached with a clip on the back that hooks into a pin. The fabric appears to sit above the rod, concealing most of the rod except the ends. Decorative ends can be used to dress up the curtains. * Grommet drapery panels have a grommet or bronze ring sewn into the fabric. The hole in the ring is what goes over the curtain rod. Grommet panels are fairly common.
If your using a decorative rod, poke the pin in at 1-1/2 inches from the top. If non-decorative white traverse rod, then make it 1-3/4 to 2 inches from the top. Depending on how the drapery is packaged, most likely it will have wrinkles. I recommend steaming out the wrinkles after the panels are hung. A portable hand held steamer works well and is what I use. Follow the manufactures recommendations as some fabric especially silk, cannot be steamed. Lastly, after you steam, you want to train your fabric to hang nice. Some fabric looks great out of the package, but most do not. They need a little extra work, but its worth the results. What you can do is tie the fabric. First cut 3, 4 foot long strips of plastic about 4 inches wide.
