Most people aren't aware of the variety of drapery styles available. From rod pocket drapery to ring top drapery - with clips or rings - to French pleat drapery and grommet drapery, there are styles to complete the look of any interior design. The following five styles are among the most popular: * Rod pocket drapery panels are designed so the curtain fabric wraps around the drapery rod without any clips or grommets. The drapery pocket sewn into the top of the fabric will accommodate any drapery rod up to 1 1/2 inches in diameter. Each rod pocket drapery panel comes with fullness so enter the size area you need to cover. Just as with textiles, some drapes are made overseas and some are hand sewn in the USA. Check with manufacturers if you prefer products made in the US. * Ring Top Drapery Panels have clip on rings. The rings then attach to the drape and fit over a drapery rod. Most rings are made of either wood or metal finishes. Rods are also available in wood and metal frames and a variety or finishes - matted metal, different color stains and more. Liners are usually available as an upgrade.
You might have some idea about the kind of drapery that would be perfect to adorn your home well. It may be quite possible that you are not satisfied by the kind of drapery that you ordered or stitched yourself. The solution now lies in custom drapes. Custom drapery makers would meet your requirements and stand tall to your expectations. Contact one of these custom drapery makers and tell them your requirements. Make sure that you don't miss out on a single detail. Describe in detail whatever you picture be it the style that you want (pleated or non pleated, flowing or fitting), floral, geometric or self colour.
Styles and Designs. Blackout drapery comes in a large array of styles and designs. As such, it is fairly easy to find a corresponding color or fabric that will work well with your pre-existing theme and accessories. Aside from the specific styling elements of the drapery itself, as well as the supplemental hardware and accessories; the thickness of the fabric one other thing people ironically do not look into enough when making their decision.
Drapery panels can drastically change the look of a room. You can use them in addition to blinds to add color and warmth to a space. They also block out light, insulate drafty windows and add privacy. However they can be overwhelming to shop for. There are hundreds of color and styles to choose from, not to mention the hardware. I will try to help you narrow it down by touching on a few subjects.
Decide how often you're going to open and close your drapery. If you're going to frequently open and close your drapes (also called traversing your draperies), then you'll probably want to choose a traverse style drapery rod. This style of curtain rod has cords that allow you to open or close your drapery easily. Traverse rods can open from the middle, or they can open from one side or the other. The way the drapery opens is called the draw. Split draw traverse rods open from the middle, one-way traverse rods open from either the left or right side.
My colleagues and I in the interior design industry began to notice this fundamental shift in homeowner expectations a few years back. Week after week, "Design On A Dime" showcased homeowners creating stunning interior spaces using simple and inexpensive objects without the aid of an interior designer. Instead of hiring a professional designer, homeowners are more and more frequently opting to decorate their home themselves. While doing-it-yourself can be rewarding, there are some interior design tasks where the help and advice of a professional can actually save you money in the long-run. Choosing your drapery hardware is one of those tasks.
Most importantly, use your creativity when decorating with draperies. We often associated drapes exclusively with windows, but there are other ways to utilize these features. For example, a four-post bed becomes even more dramatic if the posts are decorated with elegant draperies. In addition, you can create a private veranda by hanging drapes on open sides of a sundeck if you live in a dry climate. As is the case with any kind of decorating, always try to match your personality with the style of your room and use draperies to highlight your style while maintaining the flow of that room. There are endless possibilities for decorating with drapes and you should never let your imagination be stifled.
